To arrange your wedding, please contact the Parish Office. The parish secretary will schedule an appointment for you to meet with Fr. Aidan Crowley P.P.

A wedding booking cannot be confirmed until you have met with, or spoken directly to, a priest of the parish. As an initial step, please email the Parish Secretary at Info@DoneraileParish.ie with the full names and addresses of the bride and groom, the proposed witnesses, your proposed wedding date, and your contact mobile numbers.

Church fee: €300 · Notice: at least six months

Civil Requirements

What the State asks

  • —Both parties must be over eighteen years of age.
  • —A couple must meet a civil registrar at least three months before the wedding (Registrar's Office, Adelaide Court, Adelaide Street, Cork — 021-4275126, www.groireland.ie).
  • —Bring photo identity, names and dates of birth of witnesses, name of church, date of marriage, and name of the officiating priest.
  • —If either party has been previously married, provide an original divorce decree or death certificate.
  • —The registrar issues a Marriage Registration Form (MRF), which must be presented to the solemniser before the wedding and returned within one month of the marriage.
Church Requirements

What the Church asks

  • —Preferably six months' notice to the priest of the parish before the wedding date.
  • —Pre-Nuptial Enquiry Forms for both parties, completed in the parish of residence by a priest of your home parish.
  • —Baptismal Certificate (issued within six months of the marriage date) and Confirmation Certificate for both parties.
  • —Letter(s) of freedom where necessary.
  • —Certificate of an appropriate Pre-Marriage Course (ACCORD — 025/31899).
  • —Meet with the priest officiating to plan the liturgy, music, and rehearsal.

Dates when marriage cannot be celebrated

The sacrament cannot be celebrated on Sundays, Holy Days, during Holy Week, and the following commemorations.

Marriage Enquiry

A marriage cannot take place until all marriage documents (Pre-Nuptial Enquiry Forms) are complete and in order. Bookings are not accepted by a third party.
